CYBER TRACKER (1994)

“Cyber Tracker,” a 1994 sci-fi action film directed by Richard Pepin, stars Don “The Dragon” Wilson as Eric Phillips, a Secret Service agent in a futuristic Los Angeles where justice is automated. Produced by PM Entertainment, this low-budget direct-to-video flick pits Eric against a corrupt system he once served. Senator Robert Dilly (John Aprea), Eric’s boss, champions the Computerized Judicial System, which uses data to convict criminals and deploys nearly invincible android “Trackers” (Jim Maniaci) to execute them instantly. Eric starts as Dilly’s loyal bodyguard, but his faith crumbles when he witnesses Dilly murder a Union for Human Rights (UHR) activist in cold blood, revealing the senator’s dirty games.

Framed for the killing, Eric becomes the Trackers’ next target. He escapes Dilly’s security chief, Ross (Richard Norton), and a relentless android pursuer, joining forces with the UHR, led by journalist Connie Griffith (Stacie Foster). As they dodge explosions and gunfire, Eric uncovers a conspiracy: Dilly is a cyborg himself, puppeted by Cybercore Industries to expand the Tracker program. The rebels steal damning files, and Eric faces off against Ross in a brutal kickboxing showdown, then takes down another Tracker. In the climax, he crashes Dilly’s press conference, shooting the senator to expose his mechanical nature on live TV, collapsing Cybercore and the system.

Loaded with PM’s signature car chases, fiery stunts, and martial arts, “Cyber Tracker” echoes “Terminator” and “RoboCop” but swaps depth for relentless action. Wilson’s stiff heroism and Norton’s mulleted menace shine, though the bargain-bin effects—like a Tracker’s laughable fire walk—scream ’90s DTV. Critics call it a derivative B-movie, but its breakneck pace and silly sci-fi quirks—think Eric’s chatty home AI—make it a cult guilty pleasure for action junkies.
